Would you like to join our team?

Dog Adventures Northwest is looking for rewards-based dog trainers, trainers-in-training, and experienced pet sitters to join our team of contractors. Based in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area, Dog Adventures Northwest provides off-leash adventures for dogs, private training, day camp, boarding, board-and-train, and pet sitting.

While we offer many wrap-around services, our main business is taking dogs on off-leash hikes. We are a premium door-to-door service, where all adventures are led by positive, rewards-based dog trainers, and where the ratio is never greater than four dogs to one trainer. We have a loyal clientele who send their dogs out with us anywhere from 1-3 times per week. Contractors who offer adventures must be physically able to hike approximately three miles per adventure over uneven terrain and in all kinds of weather.

Contractors who work with Dog Adventures Northwest set their own schedule and have the complete freedom to offer only specific services, as well as to accept or deny new clients. Payment is commission-based, with one of the highest commission rates in the pet industry (65-85%, depending on business status, certification, and years with the company). Our top-earners make approximately $6000/month. Dog Adventures Northwest is licensed, bonded, and insured, and strictly adheres to all national and state laws concerning independent contractors.

Contractors who accept work through Dog Adventures Northwest receive the full administrative support of Dog Adventures Northwest, allowing them to focus more on the dogs and less on the business side of the pet care industry (marketing, sales, client onboarding, schedule management, invoicing, taxes, etc). Contractors who work with Dog Adventures Northwest additionally receive the benefit of being a part of an amazing team of trainers, which is helpful for problem-solving, support, continuing education, and a general sense of community.

Contractors must self-manage, adhere to the schedule they set with clients, and have a friendly rapport with both dogs and their people. All Dog Adventures Northwest contractors must submit to a criminal background check, be pet first-aid certified, have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, and own their own vehicle.
