Meet and Greet Pet Sitting Expectations

Meet-and-Greet (Pet Sitting) Description

Dog Adventures Northwest offers all Pet Sitting clients a Meet-and-Greet to discuss the Dog Adventures Northwest Pet Sitting service and specific animal care with their prospective Pet Sitter. While this service is free for clients, Contractors are paid a flat fee of $25 for each Meet-and-Greet.

Meet-and-Greets allow prospective clients to:

  • Inquire more about Pet Sitting services.
  • Meet their potential pet sitter and watch their interactions with their dog.

If a client is ready to book Pet Sitting services, Meet-and-Greets also allow them to:

  • Go over and settle on a schedule for their animal's services.
  • Discuss home entry via knocking, lock box, door code, key, etc.
  • Show their Pet Sitter the location of necessary supplies (leash, harness, collar, treats, water bowl, etc).
  • Discuss details and schedules for pet and home care (animal feeding, walking, pottying, and sleeping; mail/package info, plant care; and Pet Sitter sleeping and bathing accommodations).
  • Enter their trainer's contact information into their cell phone.

Meet-and-Greets allow Dog Adventures Northwest Contractors to:

  • Meet their potential new client.

If the Contractor feels that the dog is a good fit for them, Meet-and-Greets also allow Contractors to:

  • Discuss home entry via knocking, lock box, door code, key, etc.
  • Learn the location of necessary supplies (leash, harness, collar, treats, water bowl, spigot and hose, etc).
  • Discuss details and schedules for pet and home care (animal feeding, walking, pottying, and sleeping; mail/package info, plant care; and Pet Sitter sleeping and bathing accommodations).
  • Walk clients through how Dog Adventures Northwest manages invoicing and scheduling through the Time to Pet app, if they are new to Dog Adventures Northwest services.

There is no obligation for either the client or the Contractor to engage in services after the Meet-and-Greet.

Please note that Pet Sitting Meet-and-Greets are not training sessions. If a Pet Sitter is also a trainer, they should not train the dog or offer their specific training expertise to the client. Clients are welcome to book Private Training sessions with Dog Adventures Northwest if they would like concrete guidance and training for their dog.

Meet-and-Greet Pet Sitting Expectations

Dog Adventures Northwest Contractors will receive notification of a new client via email. If the Contractor feels that their schedule and capacity aligns the needs of the client based on the information provided on the basic intake form, Contractors agree to do the following:

  • Follow all General Contractor Expectations.
  • Contact the client using the preferred method of communication listed on the basic intake form.
  • Schedule the Meet-and-Greet at the client's home.
  • Notify Dog Adventures Northwest of the date, time, and location of the Meet and Greet by responding to the New Client Prospect email for prospective clients, or to schedule@dogadventuresnw.com for existing clients.
  • Carry high-value treats for classical conditioning.
  • Let the client know what to expect from the Meet-and-Greet, including purpose of the Meet-and-Greet and the 30-minute timeframe.
  • Take notes, either within the client's Time to Pet profile itself, or on paper (to be transferred to the client's Time to Pet profile later).
  • Discuss schedule, home entry, and location of spigot, hose, and supplies if both the client and the Contractor agree to engage in services with one another. Note that this information can be shared at a later time through the Time to Pet profile.
  • For clients that are new to Dog Adventures Northwest, let them know about the Time to Pet system if it seems the dog is a good fit for services, and encourage them to download the app; inform clients that service cannot begin until they have signed into the system after receiving log-in information from Dog Adventures Northwest and signed the waiver. Their Time to Pet log-in information will be sent to them if they are approved for service by the Contractor and if they want to move forward with scheduling.
